《Skin to skin》是鹿晗個人第二首純英文作品。鹿晗在專輯《XXVII》錄音階段即將結束時，無意中聽到了該曲Demo併當即決定演唱該曲。之後，鹿晗在十二小時內完成了歌曲的完善與錄製。而為了更加完美的演繹該曲情感，鹿晗在演唱時首度調整了自己的音色。

《Skin to skin》屬於清冷克制的另類R&B曲風，呈現出冷冽的質感。鹿晗不同以往的沙啞音色與編曲中Future、Electro等多種流行元素配合，營造了高級的平靜風格。該曲將歐美音樂元素結合鹿晗個人特質，打造出了立體而有層次感的音樂，亦展現了音樂結合色彩美學的前衛審美。

該曲MV於2017年1月17日發布15秒預告，同月19日正式上線。MV採用意識流的手法，通過特寫鏡頭和色彩來展現情緒的變化。MV中，紅、藍兩種色調隱喻歌曲中兩種不同的意境。同時，MV鏡頭在鹿晗的特寫鏡頭和輕盈舞蹈之間不斷變換，寓意激烈、混亂的情緒變化，最終通過場景的切換揭示出MV中“夢境”的謎底。

2017年2月6日，發布MV花絮，展現了拍攝現場的布置以及鹿晗在聚光燈下工作的畫面。
