2. offer作“提出、表示”解。如：

Johnson offered a new suggestion.

3. offer後接不定式，表示“主動提出做某事”。如：

4. offer還有“出售”、“出價”的意思。

① offer sth for (money) 以多少錢出售某物

He offered this bike for 600 yuan. 這輛自行車他要價600元。

The next morning we offered our boat for only 6 dollars.

第二天上午我們僅以6美元出售我們的船。

② offer sb (money) for sth / to buy sth 出價多少購買某物

We offered him 10,000 yuan for his house. 我們願出一萬元錢來購買他的房子。

They offered him 3,000 yuan to buy the laptop.

他們願出3,000元來買他的筆記本電腦。
