《廢柴聯盟第二季》是安東尼·羅素執導的情景喜劇。該劇講述 Greendale社區大學迎來新學期，由Jeff（喬爾·麥克哈爾 Joel McHale 飾）帶領的學習小組“格林七俠”又回到校園。眾人都很期待，有一個人卻對開學感到惶恐，那就是Britta。在上一季里，Jeff和Britta曖昧了一整個學期，Britta終於在期末舞會上公開對Jeff示愛，後者卻逃之夭夭，這讓二人陷入尷尬的境地。與此同時，Jeff和Annie的關係也變得曖昧不清。 Jeff將如何平衡他們的關係？
新學期伊始，學習小組相約選了人類學課，主講老師卻不是他們所想的那麼容易糊弄。曾為西班牙語老師的昌被辭退，成了社區大學學生，他拚命想擠進七人學習小組。各種各樣的新問題並隨著新學期迎面而來，相愛相殺的學習小組將一一解決。

Greendale社區大學的學生有些”特殊“。這倒不是說他們身體上有什麼缺陷，而是因為他們的構成千奇百怪——有高中時代的”差生“，有剛剛離婚的家庭主婦，還有”活到老學到老“的老人。
沒有了象牙塔的神聖感，社區大學圓了這些人的”高等教育“夢。人生苦短，莫荒廢了好年華，這就是本劇要告訴我們的真理。
