Shooting Star

Owl City第二張EP新作“Shooting Star”，發佈於2012年5月15日。這張EP有四首歌曲：”Shooting Star”"Gold”"Dementia”"Take It All Away”，而這四首歌曲也將收錄在Adam Young的即將面世的專輯《The Midsummer Station》中。

“我覺得作為一個藝術家，你應該絕不回頭，拒絕重複。”Adam Young在Billboard的Gary Graff的採訪中如是說。Young目前正在策劃進行著將由2012年夏天的新專輯發布，“Shooting Star”只是新專輯發布的預熱。Young的這張新EP中的四首歌，是為了確保向公眾預測新專輯的風格。儘管Young為了保持新EP的風格，但EP中仍然透露出Young想要創造好聲音的努力，“Shooting Star”融入了濃厚的European trance元素，”Dementia”則著重注入搖滾風。

2007年，一位名叫亞當·楊（Adam Young）的美國大學二年級學生在明尼蘇達州 創建了之貓頭鷹城樂隊，亞當·楊是該樂隊的唯一成員，樂隊的創作、編曲、作詞、混音合成、主唱全由Adam擔任。樂隊成立不久，便發行了首張EP《Of June》。2008年樂隊發行了首張專輯《Maybe I’m Dreaming》。2009年，樂隊先後發行了單曲《Hot Air Balloon》、《Strawberry A valanche》，2009年7月14日樂隊發行了全新專輯《Ocean Eyes》，其中專輯的主打歌曲《Fireflies》更是一舉躍上美國Billboard榜單的冠軍寶座和itunes下載排名的冠軍位置。貓頭鷹之城在發行樂隊的第一張專輯以及主要單曲時都是未和唱片公司簽約的，直到2009年的早些時候，亞當·楊才同著名的音樂廠牌“Crazed Hits”簽約，準備樂隊的專輯《Ocean Eyes》。在《Ocean Eyes》之後不斷創作出一首首單曲，直到2011年，主唱Adam Young宣布了新專輯《All Things Bright And Beatuiful》的創作的消息。萬眾期待的《All Things Bright And Beatuiful》終於於2011年6月14日全球發布。2012年4月Adam在OwlCity官網上還有個人推特中透露8月將會推出新專輯《The Midsummer Station》。作為新專輯的預熱，2012年5月15日推出了EP《Shooting Star》。
