陳永川

1987年7月四川大學數學系應用數學專業碩士研究生畢業后，在西南財經大學任教，后赴美國麻省理工學院數學系組合數學專業攻讀博士研究生，畢業后在美國洛斯阿拉莫斯國家實驗室從事博士后研究並擔任研究員。

1994年回國，先後任南開大學數學研究所教授、組合數學研究中心主任，南開大學校長助理。

2001年8月起，先後任南開大學副校長、九三學社天津市委會副主委、九三學社中央常委。

2007年7月當選九三學社天津市委會主委。

2008年1月當選天津市第十二屆政協副主席。

2011年11月當選中國科學院院士。

2013年1月當選天津市第十三屆政協副主席。

2018年1月當選天津市第十七屆人大常委會副主任。

第十二屆全國人大代表。第九屆、十屆、十一屆全國政協委員，第十三屆全國政協常委。

2021年1月27日，天津市第十七屆人民代表大會第五次會議決定：接受於世平、陳永川、楊福剛辭去天津市第十七屆人民代表大會常務委員會副主任職務的請求。

為組合數學及其在理論計算機科學、數學物理、計算生物學中的應用。

《Annals of Combinatorics.》創辦人，《Advances in Applied Mathematics.》編委。

先後擔任國家重點研發專項負責人（2017），“973”項目子課題負責人（2004）

國家自然科學基金創新群體“組合數學”項目負責人（2020）

和國家自然科學基金重點項目負責人（2008）

在組合數學領域取得了多項重要進展。例如解決了美國前任數學會會長、美國科學院院士安德魯斯（G.E. Andrews）和沃爾夫獎獲得者、美國科學院院士、英國皇家學會會員、美國普林斯頓高等研究院戴森（F. Dyson）教授等人提出的關於spt分拆秩不等式和同餘性質的兩個猜想。

戴森評價這是一項“了不起的工作”（a formidable piece of work），“解決了一個非常困難的問題”，是“分拆理論中的一項重大突破，使這個方向的研究前進了一大步”。

相關成果在《Adv. Math.》（2015）、 《J. Reine Angew. Math.》（2016）等雜誌上發表。

曾獲得聯合國教科文組織“海珊”青年科學家獎、陳省身數學獎。
