《好運理髮師》這部電影講述了一位鄉村理髮師比魯的故事。

比魯原來是小村莊里一個趕不上潮流的理髮師。後來由於超級巨星賽爾·可汗是比魯小時的同學，比魯在小村裡變的非常受人尊敬。

故事概要影片劇情：

Based on the story of friendship between Krishna and Sudama. A remake of the hugely successful Malayalam film Kadha Parayumbol, Billu (formerly Billu Barber) is the story of a small town man, Billu (Irrfan Khan) who mentions to his family that he was once a friend of superstar; Sahir Khan (Shahrukh Khan). Sahir Khan happens to come to the village to shoot a film and Billus children spread the rumor that their father is his childhood friend. The villagers, on hearing their Billu could be their ticket to meeting the star, shower him with gifts and promises on condition Billu make contact for them. Billu is embarrassed by his poverty and doesnt want to impose, but everyone works themselves up so hes forced to make several ill-fated attempts at contacting the star while hes shooting just outside the village. But its the school principal who, after threatening to expel Billus children for non-payment of fees, has a turnaround when she believes Billu is able to get the star to appear at a school function and speak to the children. She goes to Sahir herself and requests his presence at the function for the children. Were Billu and Sahir childhood friends? Will Sahir meet with the villagers?

一天，一個攝製組來到這個村子拍電影。超級巨星賽爾·可汗是比魯小時的同學。一下子，比魯發現小村發生了變化，他變得非常受人尊敬了。每個人都想他去見見那個超級明星。但是，比魯自己對此沒有把握，他感覺無法和超級明星相比。此外，他也害怕明星不認他。他做了很多努力去見明星，但是都沒有成功。最後他決定放棄了。但是大家都認為他說的和明星的關係都是騙人的，於是開始對他無禮起來。他的家庭和孩子們也發生了變化......

印度電影，搭配舞蹈和音樂等文化元素，並在這個前提下具有人性體驗的一面。影片里有少不了印度歌舞，但是那種單純的追星情緣和被記在心裡的童年回憶才該是這部影片能夠帶給觀眾的最終印象。尤其是在影片最後那段大篇的演講，讓觀眾也體會到片中明星心深處的遺憾。而最終兩個老朋友的見面更是讓人感觸頗深，感人的情節和兄弟情義，比起一般的印度電影多了一點讓人想流淚的感覺！故事體現了真正的友情是永遠不會被遺忘！為了朋友困難時期伸出援手，卻從不計較回報！最後一幕很感人！

當然，影片里對於一些小市民的描寫也比較細緻而獨到，對他們的愛憎分明也有諷刺的意味在其中。也有些喜劇的情節讓人大笑不已。
