David Valcin出生於美國紐約史丹頓島，在紐約市布魯克林和加拿大魁北克長大。表演生涯起步於高中時參加的戲劇社The Jubilee Players。
自厄勒姆學院（位於美國印第安納州，邁克爾·霍爾及Don Wildman母校）畢業后，進入The Atlantic Theater Company學習表演，師從威廉姆·H·梅西，菲麗西提·霍夫曼，大衛馬梅。
David Valcin曾在1998年由瑪麗-凱特·奧爾森和阿什莉·奧爾森主演的電視喜劇Two of a Kind中飾演Eddie Fairbanks為人所知。2011年美國CBS電視台電視劇《疑犯追蹤》中飾演Scarface而聞名。
與其配偶Diane Murphy育有三名子女。
