主要學術成就:構建了國際上第一張含功能標記最多的四倍體栽培棉種遺傳圖譜。基於該圖譜,系統進行了不同棉種標記可轉移性及比較基因組學研究和D基因組棉種的分化研究。標記定位了大量棉花育種目標性狀基因/QTLs並用於分子標記輔助選擇研究。克隆和驗證了一批高品質棉纖維優勢表達的基因或全長cDNA,為優質棉種質創新提供了重要的基因資源。建立了MAS的基因疊加育種體系,顯著提高了育種效率,獲得南農85188等一批抗蟲、優質的創新種質。利用 MAS育種體系培育出高產、優質、抗蟲的棉花雜交種2個,並進行產業化開發。
在Genetics、BMC Genomics、TAG、MGG、Mol Breed、Plant Sci等國內外專業雜誌發表論文130多篇,其中SCI論文50餘篇。參編論著3部,
