常數

固定的值

在物理學上,很多經測量得出的數值都被稱為常數。例如萬有引力係數和地表重力加速度等。但有研究表明,大部分這類常數並不是恆定不變的,因此就被稱作“不定常數”和“不恆定的常數”。在數學上固定不變的數值稱為常數。如圓的周長和直徑的比值(π)約為3.14159﹑鐵的膨脹係數為0.000012等。常數是具有一定含義的名稱,用於代替數字或字元串,其值從不改變。

常數具有多重含義:
1.規定的數量與數字。
2.一定的重複規律。
3.一定之數或通常之數。
4.一定的次序。
5.數學名詞。固定不變的數值。一個數學常數是指一個數值不變的常量,與之相反的是變數。跟大多數物理常數不一樣的地方是,數學常數的定義是獨立於所有物理測量的。數學常數通常是實數或複數域的元素。數學常數可以被稱為是可定義的數字(通常都是可計算的)。其他可選的表示方法可以在數學常數(以連續分數表示排列)中找到。常數又稱定數,是指一個數值不變的常量,與之相反的是變數。(常數多指大於零的數)
