田勁東1995年7月畢業於天津大學精密儀器工程系，電子精密機械專業，並同時獲得技術經濟學雙學位。1998年2月在該校精密儀器與光電子工程學院攻讀研究生並取得光學工程碩士學位。1998年3月考取天津大學精密儀器與光電子工程學院博士研究生，並與2001年1月獲光學工程博士學位。2001年2月-2002年11月在香港科技大學機械工程系做博士后。2003年1月進入深圳大學工作，2003年12月晉陞副研究員，2007年12月晉陞為教授。

教學方面：承擔本科生課程“工程光學”（2009~）的講授工作。承擔研究生課程“數字圖像處理”（2003~）和“Matlab在光學工程中的應用”（2008~）的講授工作。

科研方面：曾參加或主持國家商檢局項目、國家863計劃、香港RGC項目、國家自然科學基金等項目、廣東省和深圳市科技項目等多項。曾獲第一屆“中國儀器儀錶學會獎學金－金國藩青年學子獎學金”、“儀器儀錶”一等獎學金、教育部科技進步二等獎，已發表論文36篇，其中被SCI收錄8篇，EI收錄17篇，申請國家發明專利6項，已獲授權4項。

研究項目

一直從事與光學測試、機器視覺與圖像方面的研究工作，主持和參加國家自然科學基金、863等項目多項。目前在深圳大學主持國家自然科學基金1項、廣東省自然科學基金2項、廣東省科技計劃項目1項、深圳市科技計劃項目1項、深圳大學科研啟動基金1項和企業委託項目2項。
