信口開河

元·王實甫《西廂記》第二本第三折：“你那裡休聒，不當一個信口開河知。”

楚漢相爭時期，劉邦與項羽在靈壁激戰，劉邦敗北，屯兵滎陽。項羽授英布為“當陽君”，率40萬進駐九江。劉邦派“典謁官”隨何去勸說英布投降。英布則說隨何信口開河，然而他還是投降劉邦。劉邦故意氣他，後設宴款待，封“九江侯”。

【用 法】兼語式；作謂語、賓語、狀語。用作貶義。

【詞語分開解釋】信口 : 1.隨口，謂出言不加思索。開河 : 1.河流解凍； 2.開闢河道。
