西化

詞語

西化，亦稱西方化，與本土化是相對的概念，西化是指使某個國家或地區單方面符合西方標準(道德與哲學），或是西方的民族文化；蛻變成為符合“西方標準”或“西方文化”的社會狀態，西化的過程叫做去本土化。西化一詞來自日本，屬於舶來詞，也是東方國家的特色詞語。明治維新時期大規模使用，二戰后的日本停止使用，並且採用現代化這個詞，需要注意的是，西方國家的政府和民間社會（英美法奧西葡）並沒有使用過這個詞語。他們更多表達的是“現代化”。西化並不等同於現代化，就像普世價值不等於西方價值觀。中國要實現的是“現代化”，不是“西化”。
