北京大學法學院人權與人道法研究中心是一家教育機構,成立於1997年4月25日。

促進人權與人道法領域的國內外學術交流;
促進人權與人道法的教育發展;
提高中國公民的人權意識。
開展人權與人道法領域的學術研究和教學;
人權與人道法研究中心自成立以來,已與許多國內外教育和學術機構、國際組織合作完成了一批研究項目,出版了一批有關人權的書籍。其中主要有:《司法公正與人權保障》(中國法制出版社,2001年);《國際人權文件選編》(北京大學出版社,2002年);《法治視野下的人權問題》(北京大學出版社,2003年);《中國未決羈押制度考察報告》(北京大學出版社,2004年);《刑事辯護制度的實證考察》(北京大學出版社,2005年)。
人權與人道法研究中心自2004年開始與瑞典隆德大學瓦倫堡人權與人道法研究所共同舉辦人權法碩士項目。該項目開設的課程有:人權與法治;公民、文化、經濟、政治與社會權利;國際人權保護機制;區域人權保護機制;商業與人權;國際人道法;難民法;少數者權利的保護;婦女權利與兒童權利及人權保護系列專題講座。
人權與人道法研究中心多次舉辦有關人權問題的國際和國內學術論壇;向中國的立法、行政及司法機關提供有關國際人權法的遵守和實施等方面的法律建議;組織編寫和翻譯人權問題的學術著作;編輯出版有關人權的文獻資料。
北京大學法學院人權與人道法研究中心愿與世界各國致力於人權領域研究的機構和學者合作,共同促進人權事業的發展。
Research Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, Peking University Law School (RCHRHL)--An Introduction
Research Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law of Peking University Law School (RCHRHL) was founded on April 25, 1997. It is an academic association with members of professors and scholars in international law, criminal procedure law, administrative law, comparative law and other areas of human rights.
The RCHRHL is dedicated to facilitating academic exchanges between scholars both at home and abroad in the field of human rights, advancing the consciousness of human rights of Chinese citizens, and promoting human rights in China.
The way of the RCHRHL to fulfill its objectives is to develop human rights research and education in China.
The RCHRHL has offered courses to both undergraduate and graduate students on many areas of human rights. These courses, besides others, include: Human Rights and Rule of Law, Economic, Social and Cultural Rights; International Human Rights Protection Mechanisms, Regional Protection of Human Rights, Business and Human Rights, and International Humanitarian Law. The Center has also sponsored a joint master program on human rights with Lund University in Sweden, which is the first professional human rights education program in China.
The RCHRHL has held academic symposia and seminars on theoretical and practical problems of human rights both at domestic and international levels. It offers advisory opinions to the Chinese governmental institutions, including legislative, judicial and executive organs on matters such as the implementation of international human rights conventions. The Center also edits and translates academic works and publishes documents and other materials on human rights.
Since its establishment, the RCHRHL has launched many projects on the research and education of human rights in cooperation with domestic or international institutions and has published a series of books, including: Judicial Justice and Human Rights Protection (Chinese Legal System Press, 2001); Selected Documents on International Human Rights Law (Peking University Press, 2002); Human Rights in the Perspective of Law (Peking University Press, 2003); Reports on the Pre-trail Detaining System in China (Peking University Press, 2004).
The RCHRHL is willing to cooperate world-wide with institutions and experts devoting to the study and promotion of human rights.
