主持或參與了國家自然科學基金、國家重大科技專項、教育部科技計劃重點項目、浙江省自然科學基金、浙江省錢江人才計劃項目、美國自然科學基金,美國能源部基金、英國EPSRC等20 余項研究課題;開發了準分子激光器、反射飛行時間質譜等儀器。曾受邀為美國自然科學基金(NSF)通訊評審,是Opt. Lett., Opt. Express., Appl. Opt., J. Anal. At. Spectrom.等十餘種國際著名學術期刊的審稿人。
發表第一作者(含通訊作者)科研論文50多篇,其中22篇被SCI 收錄,26篇被EI收錄,含SCI 影響因子大於3的第一作者論文10餘篇,其中一篇還作為封面論文發表,H因子為9。獲授權國家發明專利2項,實用新型專利3項,軟體著作權3項;研究成果獲浙江省高校優秀科研成果二等獎1項,“十一五”浙江省自然科學基金優秀成果論文獎1項。入選浙江省高校中青年學科帶頭人,獲浙江省“錢江人才”項目資助。
目前主要從事基於激光燒蝕納秒脈衝放電增強等離子體光譜(LA-FPDPS)、激光誘導激穿光譜(LIBS)的重金屬污染檢測技術;基於腔增強(CEAS)的高靈敏光譜技術及其應用的研究;以及中紅外光參量(OPO)和差頻(DFG)激光技術。
