宋保亮
武漢大學生命科學學院院長
宋保亮,男,1975年1月19日出生於河南省林州市(林縣)。1997年於南京大學獲學士學位,2002年於中國科學院上海生命科學研究院生物化學與細胞生物學研究所獲博士學位,其後在美國西南醫學中心進行博士后研究。2005年獲中國科學院“百人計劃”引進國外傑出人才項目資助,任上海生科院生化與細胞所研究組長、研究員。擔任科技部重大蛋白質研究計劃首席科學家,獲國家傑出青年基金支持,“百人計劃”終期評估優秀。2014年2月28日,經武漢大學黨委研究決定,宋保亮任武漢大學生命科學學院院長,任期從2014年3月1日起。

宋保亮主要從事膽固醇代謝平衡調控的研究,其研究方向包括:膽固醇合成的負反饋調控;飲食膽固醇吸收的分子機制;細胞內膽固醇的運輸;新型降脂化合物的研發等。已在國際學術期刊上發表研究論文30餘篇,其中作為通訊作者在《Nature Medicine》發表1篇、《Cell Metabolism》發表4篇、《PNAS》發表1篇等。
我們主要從事與心腦血管疾病發生密切相關的膽固醇代謝平衡調控的研究。首次提出並證明了小腸細胞對飲食膽固醇吸收的分子模型,發現了該途徑中的多個蛋白因子;深入探索了內源膽固醇合成的負反饋調控機制—HMGCR蛋白的受控降解,揭示了肝臟脂質合成與棕色脂肪能量代謝的聯繫;構建了基於膽固醇合成負反饋調控途徑的篩選體系,並獲得了能同時降低膽固醇和甘油三酯的活性化合物白樺酯醇。這些原創性成果不僅豐富了膽固醇代謝平衡調控的基礎理論,並且對研發新型的降脂藥物具有重要意義。

中國科學院上海生命科學研究院生物化學與細胞生物學研究所宋保亮研究員因為揭示了膽固醇代謝平衡調控的分子機制,為控制高膽固醇血症及其相關疾病提供了新策略而獲得陳嘉庚青年科學獎生命科學獎。
膽固醇在許多生命過程中發揮重要的生理作用。但是,血液中高水平膽固醇會導致動脈粥樣硬化,進而引發冠心病和中風等嚴重疾病。人體獲得膽固醇主要通過小腸吸收及自身合成。宋保亮的研究,提出並證明了小腸細胞對飲食膽固醇吸收的分子模型。
2016年3月31日,武漢大學生命科學學院院長宋保亮教授應邀來到中國科學院水生生物研究所進行學術交流,並為科研人員和研究生帶來了題為“Intracellular cholesterol transport: mechanism and potential application”的學術報告。該報告系水生所創新系列講座2016年第1期。
2018年6月,武漢大學生命科學學院教授宋保亮團隊在《科學》(Science)雜誌上以研究長文的形式發表了科研成果。他們在人體發現了一個調控人體膽固醇吸收的基因,這為治療高脂血症提供了新的藥物研發靶點。
2019年9月19日,武漢大學生命科學院院長宋保亮教授在中國科學技術大學生命科學學院531會議室做了題為《Cholesterol metabolism: function, regulation and diseases》的學術報告。
